We lent tools to a French guy whose Oyster had been damaged by wind in Penascola a few weeks ago. I do not know exactly what the damage was but he could not get it to retract and eventually had to take the dish off so he could continue his journey. Mind you it was very windy, blowing a sand storm. At the same time with the wind blowing straight into my dish I had to move my van to take the pressure off before I could retract ours. Mine was not damaged but I will be more careful in future.

Incedentally if anyone is interested I have set mine up so that I can listen to the radio all day long using around one amp per hour. I do not use the telly for sound and instead have connected an FM transmitter to my sat receiver audio out puts, I then use my portable radio to pick up that signal. Both the FM transmitter and the radio are 3volt and run on a few milliamps each they are powered by 12v reducers so that I run them from the leisure batteries. My receiver is a LIDL 12v, Regards, Alan.

Hi Alan

You were lucky with your dish then

As for radio... we do this for some customers with our in-motion systems, hooking up the receiver to the motorhomes head unit, allows people to listen to british radio all over europe even while driving - takes your idea one step further! Laughing
