I have been reading this site which seems to be very good to me.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/

This lense is the one I am now looking at due to this and a few other sites.
http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18200.htm (Nikon AF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G Dx VR Lens)

Is this the best single lense I can buy for general use?

I would also like a good Macro lense (is that the right term?) for taking close ups like on my other thread of the lichen and the leaves? Can anyone recommend the best one for this task please.

I need both lenses to work with my Current Nikon D70 and with the D90 which I may buy this year.

Thanks in advance guys.

Cheers
Karl

On the subject of lenses.

My other half has just got me what I at first thought might be a crap pressie, IE a wide angle and close-up lenses for my phone camera, well I just downloaded them to my lappy, and to be honest they're not too bad at all both of them.

Brand name is Gummi www.wowstuff.co.uk product code GC1029, not expensive, and I don't have any conection with either wow or gummi.
