Not MH related, but there seem to plenty of knowledgeable people on here, so hopefully someone can answer these.
1. We currently have a Sky dish with two outlet leads, but only one is in use. I wish to re-route the second lead to a bedroom, am I correct in thinking we can use any receiver, not just a Sky one?
2. Can I join to the existing spare co-ax from the dish or do I need to fit new cable right thro'? The spare lead won't reach to the intended location.
3. Is special co-ax needed, as I have a large roll of American co-ax in the shed? They normally use "F" connectors BTW.
Thanks for any info, just getting into this.

we have a FTA satellite box hooked up to our Sky minidish and also a normal Sky Digibox and a Sky+ box, no problems at all with any of them. We have a quad LNB on the minidish. There are channels we can get on the FTA box that we can't get on the Sky boxes, so we have the best of both worlds.

Yes you can join cable with the proper female-female connector.

I think a multi-LNB expects power on one input rather than any. You will only be able to watch channels in one band and at one polarisation at any one time.

Not so Dave each output of a multi LNB operates independently. So with a sat receiver on each output each output can provide simultaneous different channels.

I stand corrected. That's progress for you; it used to be a limitation. Only ever been a one-receiver man myself Smile
