Hi all you techy buffs, wife bought me an Aiptek pocket camcorder from Lidle but have a small problem she also got a 2gb high speed sd card from another shop but this wont work, however the normal 512mb sd card from my digital camera does, any ideas?

Hi, no lock is off and did try to format it but still no luck, the cam will only support a 2gb max sd card, how many different types are there? the none she got me was a high speed card is that the problem?

You have answered your own question Codfinger.
SDHC cards will only work in SDHC compatible devices.
SDHC cards are the high speed type.
they ae two slightly different formats if you take a close look on the back of the card it should tell you if it is sd os sdhc i have the same type of camera ane it will not work with sdhc.
SD cards can not be bigger than 2GB and are slower compared to SDHC which stands for Secure Digital High Capacity.
Not all the equipment that use SD cards can use SDHC cards. Check your manual to see if the camera supports the SDHC standard.

Ahhh thought it was some thing like that the info or lack of it that came with the cam has left me guessing, how many mins of filming can I expect to get with a 2gb card? Is this Aiptek cam any good? just a bit of fun to capture the odd bit of footage!
