Hi folks

We have recently subscribed to Sky TV, previously used a Humax DVR for terrestrial TV. We used to have Sky in 2003.

I am astounded that the current Sky interface is almost exactly the same as it was in 2003 when we used Sky for a few months (with the exception of the new Sky+ specific functionality it's exactly the same). My old Humax is way better for displaying the guide, searching etc.

So my question is:
Does anyone know of a better Digibox and DVR than the ones sold by Sky? I believe I have the latest Amstrad Sky+ HD.
I've looked into Microsoft Media Centre, but unsurprisingly Sky and MS don't appear to talk to each other. It's a real kludge to get it working.

thanks
Rog

Hi,
Only manufacturers Authorised by Sky are allowed so they all look the same and have the same software.

I would reccomend having a chat to Snelly and look into the dreambox systems.

Amstrad are now owned by BskyB. This came out in the program the other night on Alan Sugar. BskyB bought Amstrad for £121m.
