When I look at the many photos in the galleries on MHF, I'm happy in the knowledge that I can check to see what time of day they took the shot, I'm also delighted to see that they were using sRGB colour space as well. On top of that I'm glad they used the Multi-Segment metering mode. The fact that they used AUTO ISO is great news too, BUT IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE SHOT WAS TAKEN, FORGET IT.

It's ok, I'm feeling a lot better now Confused

Biglol, (pulling his hair out)

What, never been to DSCO? Very Happy Very Happy

Must admit it can be annoying. See somewhere that looks inviting and don't know where it is.

I know what you mean.....

I used to have the problem of trying to remember just where I was when I took a shot. I bought a GPS tracker which I switch on before a trip and then sync the images date/time taken to the track log from the GPS unit.

This way I know just where I was and I can see on Google Earth or Yahoo the location. The location is also buried in the EXIF data for others to see as well.

E.g the attached file will show the location and thumbnail in Google Earth.

A very valid comment.
It is also frustrating because the number of images in each gallery is a secret!..........Can we please have an indication? Smile

It needs someone to invent a camera with a built in GPS.

They already have a satnav with built in camera, should be simple to reverse the equation. Very Happy

Biglol, you obviously haven't looked at my album! Have to agree with you though, I find it makes for boring viewing and rarely browse them as a consequence. Where I find it frustrating is if something pops in the random view on the front page and I click on it to find out more and there isn't any information. Its a shame really because it takes so little effort to add a description at the same time as you post a pic, you can even go back and edit it to add it later if necessary.

Its nice to know that some members do look at them though even if the viewings are quite low in comparison to other activities on the site. Smile

To be honest, I haven't updated my album because the number of viewings is hardly worth the effort Shocked

Holiday photographs reflect a very personal viewpoint and bring back memories to the people involved, nobody else.

I look through the albums now and again, I suspect most members don't.

Glad you put this because I always panic that I write too much, having seen others who as you say put nothing I wondered wether people prefered that.

Can also ask while here how you get the little blue boxes at the base bar of your messages, everyone I have looked at has at least Buddy written but I don't, I would also like my photo's there too. I may have asked this before but got lost in the instructions as I a tad dim when it comes to computers (even though I am on here around 15 hours a day) Confused

Many thanks in advance
Mandy

Well done peedee, you are one of the few that do. I must have another look at your albums, in the hope that you have been where I want to go Very Happy
