Hi all

I am hopefully going to be purchasing a Camos 40 cm Dome shortly and one company I am looking at supply a Maxview 12v Satellite FREE TO AIR receiver. Does anyone know it this receiver picks up Channel 4 and 5? I know it does all the BBC and ITV stuff but I am unsure about 4 an 5. if it doesnt is there a receiver that will pick up BBC, ITV and channel 4 an 5 that will work with the Camos dome, how much and where from?

Many thanks
Barryd

Hi barryd
I have the Maxview box fitted to a 30cm Camos, it works perfectly and gets channels 4&5.
The same box is available in Maplins for half the Maxview price (as I found out two days after buying mine)
Regards

Maxview, Maplins, Aldi, Lidl ... all these boxes come from the same source.. Also found under the Comag brand..... Shop around and you will save money..
I to have the box from Maplins, works fine... inc 4 & 5 as these are now free to air channels..

Do these Free to Air boxes have EPG?

I have a 12v Pace Sky box works fine. Been considering getting a FTA box to see whats on other satellites.

Compared to Sky box is FTA pretty much the same programme choice?

I believe free to air boxes will not have access to the EPG. For this you need to have a "freesat" box and pay the one off fee.

There is a lot of confusion about this so I won't claim to be the font of all knowledge on this subject. Cool Cool

Hi All

I made an error here. the company that are supplying the dome and maxview box are only charging £50 for the box not £150 so thats as cheap as maplins then really.

Thanks all
Barryd
