I was considering buying a Camos Flat Sat manual crank-up satellite dish because it is lighter and smaller in size. Has anybody got one of these - what is reception like and in what parts of the country have you tried it - will it work in the north of Scotland and how easy is it to set up once installed. Many thanks.
Hello there. I have one which I fitted myself about six months ago now.Not sure how they work in Scotland but in the depths of Cornwall they are fine for reception, and very easy to set up once you get the hang of it. Also they are very sturdy in stronger winds as opposed to a dish.
I got this review yesterday from a customer which answers the question about Scotland. It's genuine!
I fitted the flat sat myself in a couple of hours without too many problems, Its never a very pleasant experience drilling a hole in your new motorhome, but the kit came with a very useful template to use as drilling guide, so the process of fitting the flat sat was very simple.
using the fat sat for the first time i was amazed how simple it was to operate and i got it set up in less than a minute. so much different than my old floor mounted system that i used to use, that could to take up to 30 minutes to set up. I have a sky digibox permanently fitted in my van so by just taking my sky card from home enjoy all the same channels i receive at home.
So far I have had a week on the west coast of Scotland, and a weekend in wales, and so far have had no problems in receiving a great signal where ever we go.
I think the flat sat is a superb piece of kit at a very reasonable price, and would recommend (and have done) to anyone.

Lucy 2 is our motorhome, Lucy 1 was a 45ft Narrowboat sold for Lucy 2. Lucy was a German Shepherd female the love of my life ( after the wife of course)
I cannot understand why the link to the website has been removed. It was the easy way look at it rather than search Roadpro on Google. I know there is supposed to be no advertising but Andy is a usefull member on here as are Edddy and Snelly etc. Franky I cannot see the harm in a link to them when they are responding to an asked question. I find the links generally very usefull
well Said C7KEN I am at present trying to sort out what sort of satt system to buy and this link would have been helpful to me.If this sort of thing carries on I may well think twice about subs renew next month.

I have fitted a few of these Camos crankups recently , installation is straight forward and easily completed within a couple of hours. Feed back i have from customers is very good. Being smaller and lighter than other crankup models as its advantages.
Removing the link of the importer of these units doesnt seem to make sense Just have to Google away
