Is this the cheapest Tomtom mount ever?

I picked up a pack of theose small round self adhesive "velcro" style buttons the other week, and came accross them in the MH, Hmm, what can I use these for I thought, then the sat nav fell off the screen AGAIN, Hmm would these hold better, I thunk, they hold my remotes OK in the MH, out of side but to hand, I'll give it a go, Ahh I thunk again, where shall I stick the bugger, Hmm, I know I'll put it on the mirror, as we don 't have a back window, head height , easy to see and hear, so two buttons and 100 miles later it's not budged, so it now has a new home, moreover as it now has the fluffy buttons on the back, I can stick two spikey buttons anywhere to hide it when not in use, without it flying around and getting damaged, the fluffy buttons do not stop me using the proper mount either.

I have a 12v socket immediately over the cab for a TV that doesn't live there, so I've put a Ciggy socket up there too, and the tomtom gets plugged in there and the lead goes through a little hole, comes out from behind the interior light, so it's next to the tomtom in use, and the cable isn't a giveaway either to the the fact I have sat nav in the van.

I thought some others might have had some other handy hints.

I have been using velcro for my sat-navs for some time now, and it really does work. Have to say I use the strips rather than the buttons, and I position mine on the dash.

Unfortunately my present Snooper Syrius Truckmate has rear speakers so it does muffle the voice a little, so I may be looking for a suitable Brodit clip.

I also use mine to mount the remotes, so I know where they are when needed.

Trying to think of more uses for the little dot's, the glue is very strong, it'll take a fair weight, just use more than one dot.

We have used the Velcro buttons to keep the awning winder tucked alongside the habitation door frame when on site. It stops it sliding around and getting in the way but keeps it accessible if a breeze comes up.

We also velcroed a little soap dish in place as we kept forgetting we had not put it away until we got to the first corner.

I remember somebody else saying that they had peeled the self adhesive pads off the bottom of those cheap LED lights and used velcro pads so that they could remove them more easily to change the batteries.

I like the LED lights idea, we have a cupboard with a big ceiling light in front of it and it's difficult to see in side, I was going to fit a 12V light inside, but I'll just Velcro a LED unit on the inside of the door, hopefully that will be enough.

Thanks Cronkle.

Similar sort of thing to Grumpy, except I used an old piece of perspex cut to shape...

I've been out playing again, I've been meaning to do something about the Tom Tom charger lead, it's always in the way, our lass always seems to catch it when she gets into her seat, so today I've cured it permanently.

I took off the interior light cluster over the rear view mirror (Ducato) drilled a 1/2 hole up into the cupboard above, pulled the TT end of the TT lead through connected it to the TT, pulled a smidgeon more through, to make the connection easier, refitted the light, and there was already 12V up in the next cupboard, I fitted a mountable 3 way 12 socket thingy, so I've now got power to the TT, and no leads hanging about, plus powere outlets for 2 more devices, and yes I do have a spare lead in case I need to use it elsewhere.

sorry I forgot I'd already posted this.

Kev.
