Hi All,
I'm so new to this I have never done it before.
Intending to go through Belgium Germany Austria & return for a couple of weeks, in less than 10 days now and the ferry is booked
.
Have been trying to plan the trip & stop overs but who knows how long any part of the trip will take if making stops to see the sites etc.
BUT Have no idea how or what to do about parking (disabled), Camp site stuff. Are you able to leave the motorhome whilst having a good look around, without incident?
It seems I may need cooking gas, but I believe it's different out there, will possibly need extra type gas bottles & regulators
I/we need this break having spent so long recovering from heart problem, got the relevant health insurances and the OK to travel.
I just need any advise there is to offer,Please! Even places to see if I'm not asking too much.
I have driven on the wrong side of the road before but not in a right hand drive, so that alone is going to be interesting
Had a resent problem with M/H battery, now replaced with New, so that's one problem less.
If anybody could give an older *art any advise of what to look-out for, where to go for, How to, etc, He'd be most grateful...
What is a "Go Box"?? Some kind of Black box road tax!

Take your Blue Badge with you. That is valid internationally and should allow you to park in disabled spaces and the sort of places you park in UK. When we park we choose the sort of place we'd park in at home and avoid anywhere that does not feel safe. We then lock up and go. We've never had problems. If you are booked into a campsite and want to take your van out for the day then leave something on your pitch. We leave a bucket full of water with our registration number painted on it.

If you are taking 2 x 6 kg Calor bottles and staying on campsites ( ie using electricity for heating via a small fire or the van heater) and using campsite showers, then you will probably not need any more gas. If you do however you can't just fill up a UK bottle. There are lots of threads on the subject on MHF so best let the experts guide you.

Not an easy one this as there are SO many things to see and do. If you e-mail the German State tourist office they are very helpful and will deluge you with information and booklets of campsites. Mention that you have mobility problems.
If you look at the MHF sections on the countries you are interested in you will get lots of ideas. Many of us have also written blogs of our holidays and we always find they are very useful.
