I am a dummy when it comes to this subject can anyone help ?
Just purchased a Maxview MXL 020 satellite receiver with an Oyster 85 dish.
Spent a long time trying to understand the instructions that came with it and installing the required programmes.
After some hours made some sense of it all and got most of the channels but unable to find Sky News /BBC news 24/Euronews/BBC3/ BBC 4.
Am I right in thinking that the missing channels are like the others on the Astra 2 Satellite?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

Stange you are not seeing news channels. They should appear in the list.
If you are receiving BBC channels (BBC1 -2 etc) then you are on the right satellite. Don't use Sky News as it appears on several satellites.
Maybe worth doing a re scan ?? to see if they turn up then.
Do have a problem with 'Information TV' not appearing but this is due to signal strength. Would not think you would have a problem with an 85 cm dish though.

Martin.

hi the missing channels are the easy ones so you should have them somewhere. If not then go to www.lyngsat.co.uk and get a list of all the frequencies for the missing channels then enter these manually and do a search for each one

It does throw people that new MXL020's come with a few channels programmed in, but not all... would be better if Maxview left the machine blank so it forced you to do a scan when its new.

Anyway, glad you got sorted!
