Still undecided about what to do for TV reception in the van, originally considered satdome (KVH + Phly) which would run through a Dreambox receiver. Depending on the money (or lack of) this may be down-scaled to a portable dish.

The question though, is what channels can we receive with such a set-up? We have Freeview at home and looking at the schedules for tonight we cannot find much to watch, so would we have much more choice with the sat set-up in the van??

Sky is not an option as we don't have it now and not interested in subscribing.

Simple answer is that you would have more channels to choose from, but still nothing to watch. The vast majority of the population whilst they have more channel choice still only watch the main five channels BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4 and Five. Most of the others pump out poor quality low budget programming.

To answer most of your questions about satellite TV,equipment and programs I can recommend the following website.

httt://www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk

Note the co.uk NOT com, that is a different site
