I have a very traditional metal directional aerial on the roof of the MH to receive Digital and Analogue TV. This seems to do an excellent job at picking up a signal in many places.

However, I think adding a booster would be a good idea for poor signal areas for a little extra oomph.

Do I need a particular type of booster for a traditional metal aerial? Can I use any 12v booster? Can anyone recommend a decent booster at a decent price that will do the trick?

Thanks.

A booster would certainly help. You need to ensure that it is digitally compliant so that it doesn't boost noise as well as signal. I would recommend the booster that comes with a Status areial, which you can buy separately.

Or you can get it from any good dealer.

Whilst you can try a booster if you like, the most significant effect you can make to improve reception is to get a better aerial. You know the saying, rubbish in rubbish out. Boosters introduce noise themselves and to get a good low noise one can be more pricey than replacing the aerial with a better one. How many elements has your aerial got and do you know its performance.? Does >this one< perform any better?

I have two boosters the low cost DIY shop one works on analogue but makes digital worse. The status one gives a useful improvement on both digital and analogue.
A good aerial is essential but in many camp sites a good enough aerial is not practical or would take too long to put up. The problem is that you cannot rally get enough height. I have an extra section to the aerial tube and it starts from the cycle rack not the floor. This again gives a small improvement.
