This coming Thursday we'll be on our way for two weeks in The Netherlands. We've got a late evening tunnel crossing and we're overnighting at Cite Europe. Hopefully we'll arrive at Camping Zeeburg, Amsterdam by mid afternoon on Friday. We've got 3 nights booked there and then we are just going to move around as we please. We'll have the bikes on board so we are looking forward to some flat, traffic free cycling.
Apart from calling in at Ghent on the way back we've nothing else planned. If anyone has any tips, particularly to do with cycling etc they will be greatly appreciated.
Just hope the weather is OK.
Good luck to you we really love the netherlands, specially amsterdam and will certainly be heading there for a few nights this summer when we get our van sorted.
Never really been into cycling very much but thats all we plan on taking with us when we go off in the van so its an excellent place to start out with the flat ground over there.
Hi Grizzly,
I'll certainly do that if I can. When do you go? We stayed at Cite Europe out and back last August and it was fine. Just a few others for company (even in August). It seemed to be used more for holding up for a few hours and then off to the tunnel I assume.
Thanks Tinyk, Of course the downside (if you'll pardon the pun) of having no hills to cycle up is that there are none to go down! Which is a shame.
We can't wait, but we'll have to.
Couple of nice sites,j7 west of rotterdam on A 15.Turn Left,SP Brielle,Rockanje.Turn left at speedbump, half a mile turn right to level grassed area wild camping, two nights usually before police move you on,but have been told 2009 laws relaxing re wild camping, camping mewue in brielle good site but expensive,Rockanje thro town to beach large car park with cafe bar etc.Try web site, natuurkampeenterreinen, small cheap sites, just water and toilets,no electricity,
Good R&R pub in Briella next to albert hindje supermarket every wednesday night, one mile from camping mewue, ride bike there and walk back with it as canal next to road.
Cheers.
Pete.
