Hi

What does the log book state - van or motorcaravan? That said, I know it can affect the first MOT date as a 5000kg van would need an MOT after one year, but a 5000kg motorhome does not.

If it is a motorcaravan, with all that makes it one, and is registered as a 'Motorcaravan' it is definitely a 'Class 4' for MOT.

If it is a van it will be a class 7, I think, but you can have a class 4 MOT done at a test station that does class 7.

If it is a class 4, it doesn't necessarily mean that a 'Class 4' test station can do it: that will depend on the weight capacity of their ramps, the length of their ramps, and the headroom above their ramps.

Hi our Iveco is a 35C13 I think, our motorhome is 4200kg.

When we had our MOT is was a class 4, these are I believe Manufacturer conversions.

The other thing is to check is that MOT station must be able to have ramps and roof space to fit your motorhome in/on. We have our MOT at Iveco, and booked it in this year again, but when we turned up they had changed part of their mOT service area, and couldnt fit our motorhome in, and had to take it around to the commercial side. So check that they can offer it for your dimensions etc.

Regards Pat
