I currently have hosting space which is coming up for renewal. Although im not 100% with my current provider, im of the thinking that its better the devil you know?? Can anyone suggest a professional hosting company, that can offer the following at a decent price:
Excellent uptime
Minimum of 5 domains hosted with up to 25 subdomains
SQL
SSL cert (needed on one domain only)
Full Cpanel access
Unlimited bandwidth/space
Unlimited email addresses
Able to accept my domain names (parked elsewhere) via DNS
Any company that offers unlimited space/bandwidth is pulling a fast one to be honest. Decent Tier 1/2 connectivity costs around £25/Mbps per month. If you start sucking this in vast quantities how long is it going to be before they pull your £5/month account. You would be better looking at your site stats and making a judgement on how much you are likely to use over the next year and look for the best host you can find that will offer you that amount.
I only use their copper service, so linux host, unlimited domains, DNS managed with 123-reg fine (though they prefer if you use theirs), mySQL etc.
They do a windows version and everything from shared to virtual to physical.
Pretty much cheap as chips. I'd think about if you really need to pay for unlimited bandwidth - better to have capped but manageable and expandable perhaps?
Uptime - yep - up there with the rest. BUT - even on COPPER (e.g. <£30pa!) I get instant tech support and normally sorted quickly. That to me is worth more than 99.999999%. Only downtime I have had is once with the FTP server failing; and once then changed the server IP without telling me as they thought I was using their DNS - but 30 seconds on "online chat support" - fixed.
Better than companies I used to pay big bucks for (FYI: I am a technical IT manager - or was till I started bumming around)

These guys are brilliant, their customer service is the best I've ever had in the many years I've been hosting stuff (from the hosting business and customer side of things). I switched from EV1 who are a behemoth of a hosting company (who also had great Live customer support) to eUKhost and I've never been happier.
Also, like this place, their forums are very very useful.
