Can anybody help – brought one of those Vodaphone dongle thinges – it works on the internet, but I can’t seem to get it to work on outlook for emails. Rolling Eyes

You may be experiencing a problem similar to mine. I've had a Vodafone dongle ( monthly contract = £15) since Sep 08. I quickly found out that although I could access my e-mail Inbox and read my e-mails (my ISP is Plusnet) whenever I tried to send an e-mail , my ISP didn't recognise my Vodafone link ( "Authentication failed " message ) The Support forum at Plusnet told me what to do - involving changes to my authentication set up - but I also found a way round the problem - by accessing my ISP web site e.g plusnet.co.uk and logging in to my account and using Plusnet webmail - so not all the answer but maybe a clue

You don't say if this is an issue receiving or sending mail

If sending try:

In outlook:

Tools - Account Settings - Change

Replace the outgoing smtp server (Server you send mail to) with send.vodafone.net

You should be able to use your mail providers Pop3 server (for incoming mail) this is set in the same options dialogue..
