I have a JVC digital video camera, and want to get the pics onto the PC, and then onto DVD, the last bit I think will be more straight forward, if I can get the file type correct, (whatever it is).
The camera is a JVC camcorder GR-DVF10E, it uses tape not disc to record onto, so not the newest piece of kit, but it does what I need, I have in the past dumped from the camera onto VHS, but now need to get it onto disc as mentioned.
Does anyone know what I'll need to get/do to fulfil my objective.
It has the red white and yellow phono sockets, red/white are sound I think so the yellow might be video, it's ages since I messed with it as I lost the charger, but it still works surprisingly, the manual is missing though hence the question.
Involved in video production myself I can chat for hours on this. but you have many options on this. LG as well as other makers market 'one touch' DVD writers that you simply hook up your Video camera (white red and yellow ) phono sockets direct to the stand alone DVD writer press rec on the writer and play on your camera and your DVD will not have any menued front end but will give you a copy of what ever you put into it. If your cam has a firewire outlet and your PC has the same, and subject to the PC specs there are many DV capture utilities available. You can control your camera transport controls direct from your PC.
This would put your video on to your hard drive. from there you can install various editing programes from the most basic to the fully pro suites. Also there are many aurthering programs that let you make a full menu driven DVD.
Im currently in Spain but if you want my number it is 0034 958 718 027 as this topic can get very complicated very quickly. If I can help I will
Although a few years old. Adobe Premier pro 2 will capture, edit and aurther DVD's all in one program. But having said that there are many other program's around.
