Hello all MHF PC Boffins,

I have four gadgets on my side bar (Sidebar = 'always on top') the opacity of each gadget being individually adjustable.

Until a recent automatic windows up-date the sidebar itself was transparent, but it is now a complete white strip.
The adjustable gadgets are on top OK but that white strip partly obscures my desktop image.

Please can you therefore advise me how I can cause this sidebar to become transparent once again.

I am probably not looking in the right place but I have not been able to locate a menu option for this particular feature - sidebar opacity.

Thanking you kindly in advance,

Bob L

Possibly, Right Mouse Click on Sidebar, select Properties, Deselect "Sidebar is always on trop of other windows' Click Apply and Close dialog box.

With Windows Aero colour scheme you can have it on top and still see the background, but blurred...a wierd but good effect.

Cheers

Hello Simon,

I had tried that previously, and have just tried it again; but Sidebar still remains white so this problem remains.... Crying or Very sad

Thanks anyway.

Hi no problem Bob - I put the question onto the internet and the answer came up in a Vista Problem page - best solution to any troubles - I keep deleting my Recycle Bin instead of its contents LOL Pete Embarassed
