hi all,
pc hard drive went puff Evil or Very Mad over the weekend so bought a new one [luckily haad a back up harddrive with saved data but not operating system

Did a clean and format of new drive [just to be safe Wink ] installed windows xp home edition no problems, installed xp update 2 and broadband stuff.
Went to verify etc as promted as have done loads times in the past with no probs , but the activation code wont except and their telephone helpline is no good either [the automated one that is] . Sent a email th microsoft uk but no responce Rolling Eyes

Have done a search on the gek!! forums and they seem to think xp is not supported anymore? hope this aint true as hate to have to upgrade to vista as my system did run okay and have xp on laptop too.

I downloaded a key install finder which did show up some previous xp pro stuff but as new h/d drive was totally killed/formated should be no probs.

Anyone got any bright ideas?

The times I have used the phone and the automated service has failed there has been an option to speak to a human. You hold on and then the human asks questions like "what type of computer is it" etc then gives you the code you require.

Have you tried waiting for this?
