Hi, I have recently loaded IE8 and my search engine has changed to "Bing", is this normal and is it any good as my browsing is now very slow. I was using Google Chrome and this was faster, can I change back to this?
cheers

i would have thought it was fairly easy to switch back. if you don't still have it installed go here http://www.google.co.uk/chrome to download.
install it then on 1st use it should ask if you want Chrome to be your preferred browser, cick yes and you should be good to go.

i'd imagine you can change the default search engine in IE8, Google would tell you how

Bing is the new Microsoft search engine that is supposed to be more intelligent than Google (where have I heard that sort of thing before?)

On my copy of IE8 there is a small magnifying glass at the top right with a downward arrow next to it.

If you click on the arrow you will get a menu with 'Manage Search Providers' at the bottom. Click on this and it gives you a list of search providers in your order of preference.

By clicking on Google you can then move it to the top of the list.

Haven't done it myself because I quite like Bing, but that seems to be the way. Good luck.

I don't know about Chrome (not in any rush to try it) but I still reckon Firefox knocks spots off anything IE has to offer.
