Does anyone have a copy of the Codec IV32 on their hard drives they can send me, it might be on an older machine, it seems to have vanished nowadays, unless you want to pay on one of theses download web sites for something which was free at the time.
I need it to look at some older AVI files.

I've done the search dozens of times lately, and the phrase pops up, but the file is never there, they just put it in the meta search list (or whatever they call it theses days), but unless someone has it on an old pc it seems to have all but vanished.
I have I think already followed every link I have found, they do not lead to the file, all that happens is you have to register, then to download the file you have to pay, after paying they tell you the file is not available.
I am very grateful for the help given so far, but if the file could be downloaded I would have it and not need to ask on here.
But I could of course have missed the one site who actually has it, and doesn't want to charge me, So if you do find a link and follow it to the end and it actually has a file, please download it and send it to me, as I'm almost certain that such a site does not exist, even though they all say they have it.
I think the file you want is ir32_32.dll which I have on my pc as its part of Indio video that an old game uses.
If you cant find it I can send it to you but don't seem to be able to do it on a PM.
Unless you know what you are doing, codecs are a main source of viruses and/or malware. Mainly with people trying to get a codec for dodgy porn films.
If you get a free reputed player, e.g. VLC Media player, then it plays "most" media files without any additional codecs.

I just had a similar problem trying to watch a video we did of a wall of death at the weekend at Driffield, it was only don'r on a Samsung S800 digital camera, but it looked reasonable on the camera, I tried to play it on the lappy, just audio, no video. I rang Samsung, they advised me to go to Bill site and download windows vista codec pack. it now plays fine, but it's a bit jerky, but watchable.
