Hi All,

As some of you know we live in the country and earlier this week I was passing the farmers building these stacks of hay. Known as Corn Stooks!

I decided that I would get up early this morning as long as there was no rain! Fortunately at 05:30 it was dry but cloudy and the light just managed to break through the clouds.

Hi Mavis and Hurricanesmith,

Many thanks for your comments.

Driving past these in the week and then going back early in the morning they are crying out to be photographed.

I took some from above on a hill but as HurricaneSmith found out, the picture just doesn't make for much interest apart from a historical record of a visit. I was looking for impact so getting down and dirty allowed me to hopefully capture the atmosphere, particularly as a soft and light mist drifted in for about 15 minutes and captured in the 'Vignette Blur' version.

Best regards

Chris

Thanks for sharing some really lovely photos. They take me back to my childhood being brought up on a mixed farm in the 50s. To be picky though it is not hay. Hay is dried grass grown for animal fodder, this looks like barley.
