Hi everyone
I know there are lots of AVG fans on here and I always used it as well but recently I had to get an IT chap in to help me out with a few problems on my old PC and my new laptop.

He suggested I try Avast for a while and removed AVG from both PC's.
He also used AVG in the past but was not overly impressed with the latest version so switched to Avast.

I would just like to say how pleased I am with it to date. It works away very unobtrusively and updates come through daily. Best of all it doesn't slow down or interfere with my PC's performance.

If you are having any problems with your current protection and looking for a change I can recommend it. It is free to download I believe.

Maura

Totally agree on Avast! (the exclamation mark is part of the name).

Avast! is a nautical term: "stop, cease!" from the Dutch equiv of "hold fast". Hence the excl mark which makes it into a command.

Would I ever go back to Norton? Macafee?
Do I really look that stupid?

AVG is OK, Avast! is way ahead, so much so that I would consider subscribing to the enhanced version.
