I have a Packard Bell Easynote Laptop approx 4 years old. When I type an e-mail or a letter the computer randomly misses some letters or spaces however firmly I press the keys. I have changed the keyboard and it appeared to improve somewhat but now it has returned to the original fault.
Could it be the keyboard again or some software on the motherboard. No huge technicals please; don't know much about the thing!!

With most laptops you are able to use a normal desktop keyboard - USB - probably. Try this out first and if everything works ok then logic dictates that it is the laptop keyboard. There is an 'Compressed Air' spray that you can buy that you could clean the keyboard with, it might just be the case that there is some dirt or dust in there otherwise it could be the electronics under the keyboard but I should try the first option and see what happens.

Thank you Randonneur
Have tried the compressed air from Maplin. Much muck was ejected but to no avail. I have tried a USB keyboard and it works perfectly so by the law of averages it must be the laptop keyboard again. I think I might have to live with it but it's an awful chore having to go back all the time and correct the words.
Thanks again

Worth trying a spray with switch cleaner - also available from Maplins or any good electrical wholesalers.
Use it with the keyboard held vertically and donīt be afraid to use plenty.
Good luck
