For those of you that don't know already, the latest mac o/s has a built in screen grabber that will also grab a selected area.
Try pressing "cmd-shift-4" and you will see a cross hair waiting for you to select an area on the screen (not the 4 on the keypad) This will save a .png file to desktop.
"cmd-shift-3" will give you a shot of the whole screen
"cmd-shift-4 + space" will give you a camera, but not figured it out yet. Anyone know about the camera ?

Rest in peace for your country is free".

Biglol
all done on a big mac
The camera option allows you to select a specific window if you have several open and it will take a screenshot of the window regardless of having to see it all. You'll notice that as the camera hovers over a particular window it will highlight it. And except for the camera option the other 2 options have been around since the classic OS.
What advantage does the new 'camera' have over grab which I first saw in OSX 10.3.
If I want to annotate a picture with arrows and text I take the screen grab with skitch.

Plusnet, Safari 5, G5 PowerPC iMac running OSX 10.5.8, Salisbury UK : Get behind early - it gives you more time to catch up.
The advantage being it is in the o/s so you don't have to open a program to do it. The disadvantage is you have to rename the file on the desktop each time.
By latest are we talking Leopard or Snow Leopard (New Laptop is Leopard)
