Hello,
My daughter needs a usb memory stick to save homework to & then take to school
Now I'm about as much good with computers as a chocolate fireguard
I found this on Pc world website, would it be all right for the job??
Should be fine unless she wants to transfer lots of high quality images and videos as its only a 2GB stick. 2GB is still a lot of space though and probably more than enough! www.ebuyer.com is a good source for IT stuff, probably cheaper than PC world but then I imagine its only Ģ3 or Ģ4 anyway but worth looking at for the future if you want any other stuff.
Most will do the job and i'm sure 2Gb would be plenty big enough for homework, the only thing to avoid is that some are available with built in security, they encrypt the contents and usually require a small program to be installed onto the computer where it is being used, to me this defeats the point of the drive and i'd recommend it be avoided as the software won't be available at the school.
personally i use Corsair drives as they have a 10 year guarantee and perform very well/fast
Well Thanks for that, I'll look at a 4GB Usb Flash drive at Pc world they are only about a fiver.
P.s Do they come with Disc's to load them into your Pc.
No Phil.
If your PC is not a very old model it will recognise the stick when you first insert it, and will install it automatically.
Warn your daughter (if she doesn't already know) not to remove it while the computer is either reading from it or writing to it. There will be a little light somewhere that flashes on and off while this is happening.
