we have a van based conversion but the spare wheel was located inside the back of the van. we have seen some minibuses that have the spare wheel under the rear of the van. has anyone any experience of fitting a carrier under the back of one of these vans. ours is a 35s12 2004 long wheel base.

The chassis cab versions of the Iveco Daily are also fitted with the under chassis wheel carrier.

I bought one off ebay a while back, not fitted it yet as I'm probably going to stick the spare wheel on the back of the van and stick a grey water tank underneath the van.

It was from a twin wheel van and therefore the centre bolt that secures the wheel needs adapting, as the wheels from the single rear wheel vans are different. Other than that, it looks like a bolt on job, except on my MWB van, the holes that appear to line up on the carrier have been used to secure the van body, so new ones would need to be drilled into the chassis.

I would offer it for sale, but the next lowest bidder turned out to be a member of a self build forum I'm on who lives locally, so he has first dibs when I decide I definately don't need it. The minibus ones are probably extremely rare so might be worth finding out how much it is direct from Iveco. Let me know if you get a price.
