This is a revival of a post llast week where I was not the only one trying to set up an account on www.3i.com for my dongle. Everytime I got to put in my username and password(which I assumed eventually was that funny letter thingy they give you to insert) it said I had not entered correct username/password Exclamation After several attempts, they then told me to try again later as I run out of my permitted attemtps. Someone else was having exactly the same trouble. We were off to a show the next day so had to give up. Another member kindly offered his help when he was back at work as he worked for them. I shall not be able to use it for a while as I am in for a op' soon but would still like to be able to register my dongle then when I am ready to use it I only have to go to my account and put money on it. Any ideas??

www.3i.com (sic) (the link posted by the OP) is a Private Equity company and has (SFAIK) nothing to do with registering of a broadband dongle - what I took to be the point of the post.

If the OP is trying to register a 3 broadband dongle on the site of a Private Equity company I'm not surprised they are having difficulties.

Hi Wendy

I take it you mean
3 web site

From what I remember when I first plugged the 3 dongle into laptop it sent me an e.mail on the 3 thingy that comes up on screen, this had the password that you have to enter along with the number of your sim in the dongle.

Can't remember where I saw the previous thread about this, but I remember thinking that the same has happened to me several times with the 3 website - it hasn't recognised the password it's sent me via a text message (that certainly occurred the first time I tried to log on) or hasn't recognised my "phone" no/password combination when I've tried to log on to My3 from my home computer rather than via the dongle. Once the dongle is working you can send it to the top-up screen without accessing the main part of My3, i.e. without logging in. The whole thing seems to require patience: it does let you back in eventually once you've been locked out!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh..

Mine is on contract, so I don't have to top up, which probably explains why I can't remember having to go through any such palaver.

Hiker, Yes - the pay ass you go, all I want to do is register my phone on the 3 website but still having a problem finding the link. All about topping up etc. As I said did get to the link for registering but password they gave me would not be recognised. Sorry about the wrong info to start with.

You have to be careful about how you enter passwords, they may or may not be case sensitive and you must be sure you use exactly what they sent.

I had problems once simply because a space had become attached to what I was copying and pasting and <Password+space> is not the same as <Password>
