Does anyone know anything about the Traveler HX10XI which come out on Thursday?

I have googled it but only found what looked like German forums, and unfortunately my foreign she is not so good.

Can anyone who speaks German take a look and post if it's any good or not please.

Kev.

Yes I did look at that one Clyde, but I think it's a different camera, and no mention of HX10XI anywhere.

Most of the special offer products sold in Aldi are pretty good quality. However, you still only get what you are paying for. Do not expect it to perform in the same way as a Sony or Panasonic.
Some of the HD camcorders at the lower end of the market use such high compression algorithms that the final picture qulity is no better than a good Standard Definition digital camcorder.
Also notice that it does not have HDMI output, so no method of viewing HD on a TV unless your TV has either USB or SD card reader, but then you have to hope that the camcorder uses a compatible file format. TVs are very restrictive regarding acceptable file formats.

Thanks Gerry, I must be in Muppet mode this morning, I don't have a HD telly yet, and probably won't get one unless our current TV packs up, I don't see the point yet, it might be good, but if your eyes aint there isn't much point.
