I would say everything is pre-planned in UK as they are only weekened breaks.

Abroad, only one site was ever pre-booked and that was Camping Berger near Köln, and that was purely because it was our first journey abroad in the van.

Generally when touring Europe we play everthing by ear. Yes we pre-plan a general route to take in places we want to vist, but never prebook a site as destinations can change on a wim from one minute to the next or even with the weather.
