Hi there

As there are often site developments with MHF, I was just wondering if any consideration had been given to the development of an app for the iPhone.

I'm not sure how many members have an iPhone and consequently how much interest there would be from existing members but I, for one, would be happy to pay for an app. I know that the mobile interface can be used but an app would be far superior I think.

An app available on iTunes may also have the advantage of attracting new members. Any thoughts?

Incidentally, I'm not volunteering to design an app! IT development is not one of my skills, whereas making requests is!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing

I would pay for a Motorhome Facts App for my iPhone, and fully support your suggestion.

Development costs for iPhone apps can run from £1,000 to £3,500 - what would you wish to get from such an app?

Colin

PS - I am not an iPhone app developer, I just know it cost my employer that much!

Erm..............................my eldest boy is a geek and developed an App for iPhone over a weekend! He just did it for fun, and as he was about to list it, he found someone had just beaten him to the idea!

Ciao tutti, what could or would an iPhone app. give you that the mobile version; as being used by me as I type on my N9500;doesn't feature? If I choose to do so can also use full colour version via Firefox on a Samsung Omnia. How many MHF members have that useless iPhone?

Ha Ha, It is ONLY useless if you don't have one.

an Iphone is FULL Colour ALL the time, I to have a N9500 and personally I think the Iphone blows it away into a Drawer which it invariably stays until I go to Greece each year where I use it for a Greek sim card.

It is nice but it comes nowhere near the Iphone in application usage and availability.

But I would also ask the same question ie what would an Iphone app give you, I view motorhomefacts quiet easily in my Iphone and also Post Topics and answer topics so I am not sure what it would do. ????

I also cannot see how development cost are so High unless staff are being paid for the development, I saw a piece a while ago about an app developer whose costs to develop an application were less than $150 and he was well on his way to being very rich with its sale.
