Have you users of the Ventura either the S7000 or the S2000 noticed the User Poi's, The reason I have noticed is because I have access to 2 one my son's and mine, He has the S2000 and I have the S7000, when I looked at his I saw that he had different user POI's to me so I took his SD card out and viewed the files on it, In the "userpoi" directory I saw a list of files with the following file type names bmp (picture) inf (info) and upi which I assume is Snoopers location file, I then viewed my SD card from my S7000 and in the directory "upidb" I again found the same file types so I knew that they were compatible, I then copied both directories and transferred them onto each Ventura and tried the Ventura to ensure all was well, Success we both have now many more POI's than originally the file names are as Follows and there are three files of each name with the above file types :-

What I thought is that if we all look and post our files we should all have a good selection cos it appears that all files are different on some machines.
Just trying to find a .upi editor

I have the S7000 and have the exact same POI files on my unit. The interesting thing would be knowing how we can create our own POI files on a PC. Any suggestions or directions grateful received
As I am completely computer illiterate, but do have a Snooper Venturer, the 2000 model, I am very interested in what you are talking about, especially the Aires files, my question is :- "how do I tell if I have these files in my Venturer, if so, how do I access them, or, if I do not have these files in my Venturer, how do I get them, and how do I put them in my Venturer.
Thankyou arh.

Hi Arth, You need to connect your 2000 to your computer, you will then be able to view what files are on the sd card by clicking on your Sat Nav in windows just the same as if you were looking at your disk, There is then a Folder labelled "userpoi" you will then see a list of what poi's are on your s2000.

Interestingly I recently contacted Snooper about a freezing problem and they sent out a software update and the latest 2010 maps. When I booted up I noticed that I now have a new icon that lists all the Bord Atlas Stellplatz places. Under the original ASCI icon I also have loads more French Aires. Don't know whether this is all part of a growing database that they will eventually charge for each year but as they were stating on their web site when I purchased mine - free updates until the end of the year. When I contacted Snooper all they asked me to do was email them my contact details and the serial number of the unit and some 7 days later it arrived on DVD
To Saddletramp- "Syrius Proline Europlus memory card SD 2gb version"
thats all it says on the front of the memory card, bought the whole thing
