It's the time of year when inexperienced motorhomers get all fidgety about the weather forecast, and worry about their vans freezing up.
A very real danger if the water system is not properly "winterised", and the question keeps re-appearing every winter . . . not surprisingly.
We really need an article for the "Members Motorhoming Guides" forum so worried members can be easily pointed to a definitive guide.
Any volunteers please?
It can be prepared, discussed and modified in this forum, then if the author lets me know when it's ready I will move it to the "official" forum for future reference.

to do a similar procedure on other makes, remember variations do occur. drain the fresh water tank with the tap below the tank outside.some are unscrew others are a tap.then run the indoor taps to drain excess from the pipes and leave ALL taps OPEN. you then drain the hot water tank/boiler, most of the modern vans have a RED button that also dumps its contents when the temp gets too cold. Then open your grey water tap to drain this tank as well.
I then suggest a short trip to swill and drain some water that is left.A little water left in tanks is ok as it has room to expand, the pipes are vunerable to splitting if not cleared.
the next thing is to open all the doors of top lockers to allow air circulation and reduce cold spots.
some of us keep the hookup and run a small oil radiator to keep the inside aired when really iced up.
I always run the heating once a month for 10 mins or so.Make sure you have it on heating setting only.
If you have them fit the silver shields as well.
If we get some more replies I'll amalgamate them into a single post and put them in the MMGs for safety, and for reference by any member who needs advice.
