Hi All you Experts.

I have just bought and used my new Panasonic Lumix TZ6 for the first time. I can view all the pics OK but unable to view the little video film clips on my notebook. All I can see is a little square panel with 6 little coloured dots. When I click on the film I get a message that windows needs to know what program created it. The film clips are filmed in MOV whatever that is. My notebook is running windows XP. I cannot believe I can view film clips made on an old camera but not a new one. The video clips run fine on the camera. Can anybody help please. Can any answers please be in simple terms.

Thanks.

I would certainly expect it to come with the software to enable you to download and view the files.
Is this more a case of failed to RTFIB (read the ******** instruction book).

Hi.

Thanks to you all for your help. With the notebook there is no disc drive so unable to run the programme that came with it. I shall try the downloads that have been suggested. Yet again downloading can cause problems when using the campsite WiFi. I will let you all know if I get any success. Thanks for the help.

Hi richardjames.

As we fulltime we rely on WiFi only and our main laptop has packed up we now struggle with just the netbook with no disc drive. Do not wish to buy a separate disc drive. The site WiFi is very poor today and only has low signal and slow speed. The pitch we are on gives the best signal on the site unless I sit outside under the transmitter. So cannot download anything today. I may try installing the disc on our sons PC but I am useless at getting things on a stick. I could through the stick for the sons dog might work better.

Thanks for your help.

Got to go shopping now so thats it until later.

One of the reasons than netbooks do not have an optical drive is lack of space due to their size. Another is that they are not designed for video playback or editing.
Your netbook may struggle.
