There is a great program doing the rounds on BBC4 at the moment on the great photographer Duffy. Its going to be repeated over the next few days. Bailey is involved and there are some great bits of what the sixties was all about.

It got me thinking in that the guy was hitting the big time as I was born. He gave up in the year I started my pro photography, aged roughly the same age as I am now. He burnt all his negs and walked away from photography after a junior working for him asked him if they had some spare bog roll. He realised that he was managing director of toilet paper lol. Shona reckons she could imagine me doing that. But of course thats a load of bull as I am so mild mannered lol

Not considering giving up myself although I did recognise his statement that he did not like many of his clients and they made him feel like a prostitute who did not like the men who were doing horrible things to him (Duffy said this in more graphic terms).

Duffy has picked up a camera again thirty years later although he is seriously ill. There is a great bit where he photographs Joanna Lumley with her 30 year old son who Duffy photographed as a model with the 30 year old as a baby.

There is an article here

Oh well back to the shutter. I liked the program, it made feel young somehow

I suppose if you are the top of the tree in any organisation you have to accept that the buck stops with you in which case you are responsible for toilet rolls who washes the cups and cleans the loo.

The Duffy programme was brilliant and I was sorry to see he is seriously ill.

Just logged on and read the topic on Duffy. Wishing to pm one of the contributers I realised after clicking on pm I omitted to see is name, when I went back to the forum the post had gone off the posts listed and only 1 added since my minute ago visit. Yet yesterday there was over 1200 posts and each time I read one and returned to the list I still had the same amount to browse. How does that work Embarassed Question
