Just been looking at usb TV sticks and thought it may save me buying a TV. Just wondering how well they work and if there are any downsides.

i tried one a couple of years ago and got very variable results - dependant on aerial and location.

Good point was ability to record programmes for watching later, but overall, a cheap TV and a good aerial will do better (IMHO)

We used wintv for a few years It worked ok. You have to sit in front of the laptop to view. We used while in Spain via a Sat receiver.
Saves carrying another TV.

Zattoo looks good, just downloaded it. It was cbebees I wanted for the kids and its one of the channels so if it works it will be ideal. I have mobile broadband in the van and I guess I won't need an ariel. Only problem currently is that I don't appear to be able to register to zattoo, I click on the Register button and get a blank screen. Confused

Well I've managed to register, it wouldn't let me watch anything till I had. But now it won't let me log in so I still can't watch anything. I've downloaded everything it told me to.

Sorted it, I had to "allow cookies". Wow, thanks so much you've saved me the price of an ariel and a tv stick.
