Andrew has just got a Canon EOS 450D and I have just taken it over as its such a great peice of kit. He is not a happy bunny.

What memory cards do people use? We usually use ScanDisk as they are a fair price.

There is a great photgraphic web site whch was recomemnded by someone on here but have lost the link. Which one do you use?

I use both of the above net shops depending on price and availability. I always buy Sandisk memory cards. I'm sure there are others that are just as good though.

Hi.

We bought Four 4gig SD cards 2 weeks ago from Asda @ £7 each. They may still have the offer on. There were no signs in the store about the offer.

SD cards come in 4 flavours. The main difference is the speed rating.
1. Not rated
2. 2Mb/sec
3. 4Mb/sec
4. 6Mb/sec
If you are using jpeg and it is non mission critical almost any card will do.
If you are using RAW data with multi-shot then you may well want to go for cards that are faster.
More info of classes of SD cards (and more) here:
http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/cards/
You may also find it interesting to look at the developer pages as well.

Not sure if I am right but the 450 takes Compact Flash cards? My Canon 30D and 40D does.

Try these guys. Excellent service and normally free P+P.

This is a really good place for all things photographic not only memory cards but genuine printing ink cartridges and the glossy own brand photo paper is first rate.

Been using them for years also good own brand rechargaeable batteries and chargers and neat cell converters to change AA size into C and D size cells
Battery chargers
