I have justed purchased purchased a Motorhome and the Van has A Plug In Systems IDM 3 Alarm. It is completely dead Sad

I will tackling it later, I am presuming the battery is dead, no supply the obvious options Rolling Eyes

If I lucky enough to get it working, I dont know the code. So I need to know how to reset back to factory default?

So has anybody got a manual to assist me in my endeavours.

Anybody tackled one of these.

Also, searching the web, it seems they are fitted in caravans has there are very few links on this alarm fitted in a motorhome. Anyone know the reason why?

Maybe I need to upgrade?

Dave

I would be VERY cautious about activating this system without having all the information in front of you !! just imagine it going off in the middle of the night and you not knowing how to turn it off !!!

Press F key and keep it pressed until 5 bursts are heard from the keypad buzzer and this will revert the system to factory defaults. Default code is 1234.

If system was made after 2001 then battery can be replaced relatively easily (12v lead/acid sealed for live job) cost about £14.

I have the handbook and could scan it and email the pictures to you if it would help.

Do you have the charger? It plugs into a mini jack socket on the side of the system.

If you have tried charging it and it stays dead then probably need new battery.

System will not function if battery dead as it powers the siren.

As we are shortly going on holiday I have scanned the manual for you anyway and attached the images as jpg files.

If your system is post 2001 then you can remove the battery.

There are a couple of tips.
The four screws mentioned, two are at the sides and 2 on the underside.
The endplate slides out backwards but it is L shaped with the flap of the L under the battery so you may have to prise it out.
The battery could well be sealed to the bottom of the unit with a sticky foam pad. Poking down with a long thin screwdriver or similar will breakup the pad and allow you to remove the battery.

If you do not have the charger then you should be able to use an external battery charger clipped to the 2 spade terminals. A fiull charge gives you 8 months usage.

Best of luck - we find the system very good.
