I saw a sign yesterday that's new to me - a red circle on a yellow background. If on a white background that would mean prohibited to all traffic, I believe, but these were yellow. I saw several of them, on the boundaries of a national park, so I can only assume they mean the same as the other one.

I found this which is self explanatory Wink

"Croatia
Traffic signs in Croatia are the same as traffic signs in the rest of the former Yugoslavia. Croatian road signs follow the Vienna convention (SFR Yugoslavia was the original signatory for Croatia, which is now a contracting party itself). The most common signs are yellow and black signs for direction, blue and white signs for information and white-on-green signs are used on the highways."

Ted.
I try and state simple facts in a nice way.

Thanks, Ted - I've seen all of those mentioned.
There is a website with several pages of Croatian road signs but it doesn't have the one I saw. Today I also saw a no entry sign where the horizontal stripe was yellow instead of white (as most are here), so maybe they like to ring the changes a bit, or ran out of white paint. Smile

Years ago (60s,70s, & 80s) I drove through Yugoslavia a number of times and then just about all the road signs were the standard pattern but with the white parts replaced with yellow. I haven't been since Yugoslavia broke up but possibly the ones you have seen are old ones.

Cheers,

Mike
