Have done a quick search with no results
Hopefully someone here will know Idea

Have a Burstner 850-2 on a 50-c15 Iveco chassis with rear air suspension,, Anyone know hoe it works,, Question
Handbook is a tad vague Surprised

Have 3 buttons on the dash,
one UP,
one DOWN,
and one i would guess is to lock the system ??

Also have what would seam to be a level sensor connected to the rear diff, or at least it should be,, at present this has either come off, or been taken off,,,

Is this sensor to maintain a certain level on the rear ??

TIA

When you press the up button do you hear a compressor kick in or see the back lift. Dennis ps some photos might be good.

Thanks Denis

Yes,, the pump runs fine on UP, and will lift the rear end by aprox 5-6 inches,
Down button will release the air and return the back end,

So what do you need to know now?do you have a pressure gauge? i run mine at 45 to 50 psi, but trial and error is the best way to find the right psi for you. Dennis

No gauge fitted to work from !! so as you say, will get a feel as to how much it needs

The ,what i presume is the "Lock" button, does nothing ??

Guessing its tied in with the axle sensor that is discounted, but re fixing does not seam to make any difference

So looking for a overview as to how the system is meant to work Question

The third button is the reset button-after raising or lowering, this button is used to reset suspension to the pre-set default setting. Alternatively the suspension should reset itself when driven away attaining a speed of 15 kph

Was the a factory fit system?
If so Iveco use a system by a company called 'Wabco' (on the Daily's anyway, so i suspect all would be the same)

The 'level sensor' you speak of is a Load Sensing valve. With a standard leaf spring setup the sensing valve adjusts the braking force to the rear when laden.

When fitted with Air suspension the valve should be controlled by a penumatic acuator (as the vehicle's height would be level even when laden, thus reducing braking force to the rear even though you need it)

The actuator corrects this as it adjusts the load sensing valve based on the system pressure, not height.

I actually did a job yesterday on a Daily with problems with Wabco system (always setting its self to the highest setting)
A little 'De-Engineering' later and we had a manual controlled system and one happy customer! Very Happy
