Just had my 1st service done.
I did not think I had much of a stalling problem, I did however stall it ocasionally,I drive an auto car and put it down to This.
I asked the garage about the ecu upgrade and they carried it out.
What a difference so much smoother.
So even if you don't think you have a problem with stalling
get it checked next time your van is in for any servicing.
Grays Trucks in Croydon Surrey did the service @ £152.00
And come highly recommended.

I agree, we have asked several times for it to be done for two years and been told that it was up to date.
That garage went bust so we had to take the van elsewhere recently for some guarantee work to replace the power steering pipe.
They did the ECU upgrade without even being asked.
Wow! What a difference!
No more stalling, even under full lock taking off into a junction from rest.
It also seems to have improved fuel economy - we got 37.1mpg on a long run afterwards.
Don't be fobbed off by a garage - it needs doing, we stalled many times in some very dangerous situations.

Are your trannys fwd or rwd? Also are they 2.4 cdti 140bhp?
I have never noticed a problem with stalling. Is this a fwd problem?

Like I said, did not think I had a problem.

Are you sure of the 37.1mpg that sound a bit on the high side for a Ford.

Absolutely sure - well that is what is indicated on the display.
It was a round trip of over 400 miles.
I used a very light foot and kept to 555mph on the motorways.
Had to climb the hills of Wales too.
Consumption has slowly decreased as the engine has worn in, from about 30mpg up to 34mpg in general use.

Reason for change by pippin: Obviously I accidentally added an extra "5" to the speed! We don't fly!!

We use to have a Hymer on a Transit 2.2 130 bhp.
this use to regularly get well over 30 MPG and ours was a highline
