I have been searching the web with the idea of buying a camcorder, so I can show pictures of our travels and bore the neighbours!! and I am being blinded by science.
Absolute maximum spend £200, and I would like to be able to show the pictures on my computer and TV. Some adverts talk about a tape of some kind, others a mini dvd, and others an HD.
Could someone aim me in the right direction please.

For battery longevity I would go for one that uses a an SDHC card as the storage media which can also be obtained almost anywhere. I have one with tapes and HD but the most portable is my Toshiba S10. Some of the new cameras take a decent HD video like the Lumix. It really depends on what quality video you are looking for. The latest Flip HD Mk11 has good reviews

I have a Kodak Zi8 that i'm very happy with.

Whatever you decide, i would recommend searching Youtube for reviews.

Two weeks ao I bought an Agfa APDV-1019, mini camcorder. It uses SDHC cards. Picture quality is up to 1080p full HD quality, but you lose some functionality at that resolution. Used it last weekend at 720p and the picture quality is exceptional. It is also small and light enough to carry in a shirt pocket and always ready. Has Mini HDMI out (cable supplied) for connection to the TV.
For the first time in many year I have editec the movie and made a DVD it is so simple.
I have a Mini DV camcorder and a HDD camcorder. Neither are as handy as this Agfa.
SWMBO took it to work this week for an end of term play and she found it dead simple to use.
