Austria is part of the EU/EEC, so in theory if it is legal to do it in the UK (which the DFT says it is), then it is legal in all EU Member States. The Spanish are currently failing to see it that way so I guess that nothing is certain but I've not yet read anywhere of the Austrians taking exception to A frames.
