Well finally a day free and I've got my first 80watt panel well and truely sika'd tut roof Still waiting for my outdoor junction box where I'll eventually connect 3 panels in parallel then take a pair of 17amp rated cable to the regulator to be mounted in the next overhead locker to the Main distribution panel and only about a foot from the JB.
THIS I could do with some agreement with.. I've taken the +ve connection from the common terminal of the battery selector switch so it ought to charge which ever battery I select to use? -VE from the common negative block. I'm putting 15amp inline fuses in both positive legs panel to reg and reg to battery.
I realise 3 panels could deliver 20 amps but I may only fit (most probably) 2 , however I doubt I'd ever get 20A as the battery/batteries would never demand that much anyway.
FYI this panel cost 184 squids including 30 amp regulator and delivery orf ebay. I've asked the seller if he'll be getting more as this is THE cheapest deal.
The panels have 4mm cables but I'm stepping down to 17amp cable from the JB as the regulator is only a foot away and all the control panel wiring is this size too. So the fuse is only to protect this cable not the panels. Cheers
