It always rains in Puy de Dome! My wife who's a geographer has explained it to me and it's something to do with its topography. Apparently in the morning when it's warm all the moisture gets sucked up more than normal and in the afternoon it has to dump it.

Something to do with it being in a bowl?

Last time we were there it rained every afternoon like clockwork!

When we was there it was shut ... they are constructing a railway and one of those little trains will whisk everyone to the top -- just like that..

The good news is that there's free overnight parking.. and if you are clever you can pick up ASTRA 2 Very Happy
