Was wondering if anyone else has bought a MEOS TV with USB record function.Unless I've got it wrong(not for the first time)the TV has actually got to be tuned on for the record function. This just doesn't seem right but as my set does not have a stand by function, how else can it work?Any advice appreciated. Smile

We have the Meos as per the link below

http://www.wedodigital.co.uk/product/2059/meos-15.4-hd-read y-freeview-tv--dvd-player/meos-dvd154b/

We have only used it for watching the TV or playing video and it has been very good.
Had it well over a year now.

I've got the same 15.4" Meos. Good TV for the money but it does draw quite a bit of power.

I have recorded to USB but it's always been when the TV was switched on. There is a record function to select the channel so I suppose it should work. Mine has definately got a standby mode though.

Cheers
Alan

I have a Meos and you are surely right. I think the ability to record is just a nice bonus on top of all the other great features. It's useful if you are going to watch a programme that you might want to see again. Or you can record programmes that clash with something you want to see on your main TV and then watch it later when you are away. Incidentally, the documentation supplied with mine did not explain how to record at all and I had to contact the supplier who sent me (electronically) a more comprehensive manual. Only problem I've had is with a 32gb stick that appears to format O.K. but will not record properly.

From memory I think that the standby works only when on mains and on 12 volt it is on all the time that it is plugged in.
Regarding power consumption as mentioned above. We wild mainly with only one leisure battery and we have not had any problems.
We are conservative with the lighting and we would only have the TV on for a couple of hours.

Sorry to be a bit off topic but we have the Meos 15.4 and bought it because of the low power consumption 1.75 amps. Therefore cannot understand the poster who thinks it uses a lot of power. Never tried the usb record function as we use the TV mainly to watch DVDs.
