How much do you want to spend Sooty?

That would help thin down the recommendations.

There are at least two types with HD or without HD

Grundig did a 12v (very small footprint) - there are usually one or two on eBay going for very little

or look at this

Hi Dave, I would rather spend £100 for a good receiver than £25 for some rubbish.

Unfortunately these days sometimes the expensive ones are the same as the cheap ones but with a better brand badge. This is why I asked for a recommendation.

Hi Sooty.
I have just sent off my €20 inc postage for this.......................

Will report as and when I can on the quality and performance. Might have to hunt a manual in English though.

Ray.

Have a look at this. Small footprint, it has a magic eye if you need to hide it in a cupboard, also has a HDMI input output and you can record to USB stick or an external HDD.

Great bit of kit with a superb picture.

We bought ours from RoadPro and they do know what they are talking about. Give them a call and ask their advice.

Peter (hubby) and I have found this on the Aldi website but it doesn't give any indication that it's 12v. Is yours 12v or do you run it only on EHU or inverter etc., please?

We need to buy 12v because we wild camp; the Aldi one looks like excellent value for money but will be no use to us if it is 240v

Mines 12v. What I do is pull the little plug out the back of my freview box and stick it in the Aldi freesat box, do the same with the scart lead and Bobs your uncle, I can still view with the drop down TV.

Couldn't agree more Sooty. Very Happy

Plenty of recommendations coming in - and it seems that cheap is not always nasty in this particular case.
