Hi All,
We will be passing through Luxembourg to Germany (Trier) in a couple of weeks on the A6/A1 south of the city. Last year we stayed in Luxembourg, so we refuelled on the way out.
Where is the best place to fill up, on the motorway or turn off towards the City.
Has anyone done this recently and is there much difference in the price?
I think I'm correct in saying that it's Luxembourgian (?) law that all fuel prices within the country are regulated to the same price, so you should pay the same wherever you are in Luxembourg. Perhaps someone could confirm this.
This link shows prices in Aral outlets, so other outlets should all be the same if i'm correct ...
We filled up last month in Luxembourg and used one of the motorway services, at 0.99 euro a litre I though it was cheap enough not to bother looking any further.
All much of a muchness all the way down the Mosel from Echternacht to the southern border.
Just look for a German pickup with loads of jerrycans in the back and follow him.
I stopped in the centre of Luxembourg 2 weeks ago and also paid 0.99 Euro's i am pretty sure but will check my receipt tomorrow. either way its a damn site cheaper than we are paying i wish i had a tanker to bring some home When i got back i had forgotten to fill the van and car up before going away so bit of a shock to fill all 3 up in the UK
We ve used Remich a few times as its just off the autobahn and just this side of the German Border, last week it was abt 1 euro.
FYI Metro seemed to have the cheapest diesel in Germany 2 or 3 cents cheaper/litre. They re a cash and carry chain found all over Germany usually fairly large painted blue.
Cash only though.
