my tv at home has alwaYs had freeview and digital and it was great but since recent update to digital in NE Scotland I have lost quite a lot of good channels eg, sky 3, dave, itv4 ideal world,bbc4,fiver.film4 plus a few more. and i now have more radio channels than tv channels including x rated and top up channels which i dont want and of course have to be paid for, so much for (FREE view ) WHAT HAS GONE WRONG ? I have retuned several times but it is still the same
Regards
GEOMAR

NE Scotland has had two 'upgrades' in September with various transmitter reconfigurations. I think your problem may be because of main transmitter shutdown and commissioning smaller ones. When you do an auto retune perhaps you are picking up the 'wrong' transmitter and need to do a manual retune. See the link to digitaluk below which should assist you.

It certainly sounds as though you have come into the transmission footprint of a relay. These provide all of the radio stations, but not all of the TV stations. On a relay you will only get about 18 TV stations.
You may need to turn your aerial towards a main transmitter if you are in it's footprint.
If you pm me your postcode and the Make/Model of your TV, I shall have a look at the best setup for you.

We were at Braemar on 15 Sep when there was an upgrade of the transmissions of Freeview. What a wonderful scene, all those aerials buzzing around in every direction trying to get TV signals. The poor wardens were inundated with people trying to find out what had happened to their TVs. I would think that the same has happened to your signal.

The wardens should have been aware of what was happening and been in a position to advise people. There was more than enough information made available to them so no excuses.
